    You need to turn the saying around because it is obviously not true. It isn’t quite wrong either, but it implies that anyone who tries WILL suceed, and there’s the rub. You can’t even say “Only those who try make it” either because some are born on top, and some, in effect, win the lottery. I subscribe to the wisdom of the great baseball pitcher from the Negro League who went on to the majors later in life, Satchel Paige. He said,”You can’t help being born average, but you don’t have to be common.” Celebrate striving, not success. By the way, university students may not earn much, but university graduates do.
